Igli Tare’s era is about to begin at Milan as the ex-Lazio director has signed his contract with the Rossoneri.

Multiple sources, including Sky Sport Italia, Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport, report that Tare has signed a three-year contract with Milan.

According to Gazzetta, the club will issue an official statement at the beginning of next week to confirm Tare’s appointment.

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 24, the Rossoneri will host regional rivals Monza in the season’s final game, for which neither side has anything to play.

Tare’s priorities at Milan revealed

Milan can’t mathematically qualify for any European competition, while Monza, coached by ex-Milan star Alessandro Nesta, were relegated a few weeks ago.

As reported by Gazzetta, the contract signed by Tare means the ex-Lazio director and coach can actively start working for Milan.

The ex-Albania international will be tasked with identifying a new coach for next season and discussing with some key players in the team, including Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez, about their futures.

Tare will also be involved in negotiations with Manchester City for Tijjani Reijnders as the Premier League giants continue to pursue the signing of the Dutch midfielder.
