Iran international Mehdi Taremi is expected to leave Inter after a disappointing first season in San Siro during the 2024-25 campaign, and Football Italia understands that there is an option emerging for the former Porto striker in Istanbul.

Inter are looking to sell Taremi, who still has another two years remaining on his contract, having penned a three-year deal at the time of his move from Porto last summer

However, the Nerazzurri are already looking to cut ties with the 32-year-old after an underwhelming 2024-25 campaign, during which he found the net just three times from 43 appearances across all competitions. Two of those strikes came from the penalty spot.

Besiktas option emerges for Inter’s Taremi

Inter are still seeking a fee for Taremi, despite signing him on a free transfer at the end of his Porto tenure last summer.

His agent has recently been exploring options abroad, specifically in Turkey, and has been in contact with representatives from Besiktas, currently under the stewardship of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

The relevant parties have not yet established a potential transfer fee for Taremi as things stand.

Sunderland Transfer Target Could Leave Bournemouth as Saudi Club Inquires About €20M-Rated Star

Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah have shown interest in signing Bournemouth's Hamed Junior Traore, one of Sunderland's many transfer targets. According to journalist Gianluigi Longari, the Middle Eastern club have inquired about Traore's profile, who has a contract with the Cherries valid until June 2028. Last month, Sunderland were linked to the 25-year-old playmaker by Corriere dello Sport (h/t Sunderland Echo), and at that time it was reported that Bournemouth would ask for £13.9m for their player. However, specialized portal Transfermarkt values Traore at €20m. Sunderland target Hamed Junior Traore could leave Bournemouth as Saudi Club circle "Al-Qadsiah FC have inquired about the profile of Hamed Junior Traore from Bournemouth", wrote the mentioned journalist through his Twitter (X) account. Journalist Jason Jones added in the Sunderland Echo that Traore has also attracted interest from clubs like Fiorentina, Parma, Sassuolo, and Marseille. Therefore, we're talking about another player who could be a protagonist in the current transfer window, having multiple suitors. In January 2023 Bournemouth paid approximately €22m to Sassuolo for Traore's transfer. Since then, the Ivorian player has accumulated only 13 appearances with the Cherries, as he has spent more time on loan at clubs like Napoli and, more recently, Auxerre. Last season, he played 26 matches with the Ligue 1 side, registering 10 goals, according to data collected by FotMob. Traore isn't the only playmaker linked to Sunderland, as recently there were reports of the Black Cats' interest in Leicester City's Bilal El Khannouss (21). According to L'Equipe, the Lads board are pushing to reduce the Moroccan's release clause, set at around €26m. The French outlet cites Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa as the other Premier League clubs interested in the player, but previously, L'Equipe had also linked West Ham United with the Moroccan talent. Athletics' Nick Kurtz makes MLB history vs. Astros

Athletics rookie first baseman Nick Kurtz already had an impressive start to his career. Kurtz entered Friday having posted a .288/.360/.622 batting line in 265 plate appearances, hitting 19 homers and 17 doubles. Despite making his major league debut on April 23, Kurtz has been the A's most valuable player, leading the team with 2.6 bWAR. He appeared to be on the cusp of becoming the superstar the A's needed to sell the team to the residents of Las Vegas. That performance set the stage for what may have been the most impressive game for any rookie in major league history. Kurtz became the 20th player in MLB history to have a four-home run game and the first rookie to achieve that feat. Kurtz's performance also put the 2025 season into baseball history. Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez had a four-home run game on April 26, making this the third time that there have been two four-homer games in a season. That had happened in 2002 (outfielders Mike Cameron and Shawn Green) and 2017 (utility man Scooter Gennett and left fielder J.D. Martinez). Kurtz did not stop with those four homers. He was 6-6 in the A's 15-3 victory over the Astros, with a double and eight runs batted in. The favorite to win the AL Rookie of the Year award, Kurtz put an emphatic stamp on an already impressive season with his barrage on Friday.

ESPN Predicts Mets-Twins Trade One Week Before Deadline

The New York Mets are a half-game ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies for first place in the NL East, but their pitching staff is still injury-ravaged despite the recent returns of Sean Manaea and Frankie Montas. Brandon Waddell (hip), Dedniel Nuñez (elbow), Max Kranick (flexor), Paul Blackburn (shoulder), Tylor Megill (elbow), Griffin Canning (Achilles), Drew Smith (elbow), A.J. Minter (lat), Danny Young (elbow), and Christian Scott (elbow) are alll on the Mets' IL. The MLB Trade Deadline is July 31 at 6 p.m. EST, so the front office has one week to add healthy arms from around the league this season. ESPN's David Schoenfield predicted on Thursday that New York would trade for a Minnesota Twins reliever. "One guarantee of the trade deadline: The Mets will add to the bullpen, probably with more than one trade. Though the rotation still ranks fifth in ERA, that was built off a hot start," he wrote. "More importantly, the only Mets starter to complete six innings since June 7 has been David Peterson. As a result, manager Carlos Mendoza has run relievers Reed Garrett, Huascar Brazoban, Jose Butto and Ryne Stanek into the ground. The bullpen had a 2.78 ERA through May, but that figure is over 5.00 since the beginning of June (ranking near the bottom of the majors)." "The Twins have two high-profile relievers in [Jhoan] Duran and [Griffin] Jax, both of whom are under team control through 2027, so they'll be much more expensive than your usual short-term relievers if the Twins decide to trade one or both," he continued. "Duran would be harder to deal -- but bring more in return -- so we'll say Jax will go. Don't be fooled by his 4.09 ERA: He has 68 strikeouts and 12 walks in 44 innings with a 97-mph heater. He's an elite strikeout reliever, the type you want on the mound in October." The Mets are hot despite their injuries, as they're on a four-game winning streak and just swept the Los Angeles Angels. Next up is a road trip against the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres. New York right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes (8-5, 3.48 ERA) will face Giants right-hander Logan Webb (9-7, 3.08 ERA) on Friday.

Former Eagles champion announces retirement from NFL

One veteran NFL defender is ready to trade the football field for the golf course. Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jordan Hicks announced in a post to social media on Friday that he is retiring from the NFL. Hicks is calling it quits after 10 career seasons with four different teams. “I walk away with peace knowing I gave football all I had, and that the best is yet to come,” Hicks wrote in his post. You can see the post in full here. Now 33 years old, Hicks was a third-round draft pick by the Eagles in 2015. He spent the first four seasons of his career with them and was a member of Philadelphia’s Super Bowl-winning team in the 2018 campaign. Hicks later went on to play for the Arizona Cardinals, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Cleveland Browns as well. The former University of Texas star Hicks was one of the more versatile linebackers of his era, capable of playing all three positions (inside, middle, and outside). He tied for third in the NFL with five interceptions during the 2016 season and also later ranked third in the NFL with 150 combined tackles during the 2019 season. Hicks made 12 appearances in 2024 for the Browns but is now content with walking away from the game. He also dealt with a dangerous physical condition that required hospitalization a couple years ago and has thus decided to move onto his next chapter.
