Inter confirm that Mehdi Taremi has suffered a strain in his left thigh and will be reassessed next week. This means that he’ll miss Wednesday’s derby della Madonnina against Milan.

Inter released an official injury update on their striker Taremi on Monday afternoon.

The experienced striker had missed Sunday’s home game against Udinese due to a muscle injury and the Nerazzurri have now clarified the extent of his physical issue.

“Mehdi Taremi underwent a medical examination at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano this morning,” the Nerazzurri said.

Official: Taremi injury update as Inter striker misses Coppa derby

“The tests revealed a strain in his left thigh. His condition will be reevaluated next week.”

This means Taremi won’t be available for the Nerazzurri in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia semifinal second leg against Milan.

Inter, however, hope Lautaro Martinez will return to action after missing Sunday’s game against Udinese.

Lautaro had sustained a muscle injury while on international duty with Argentina.

Taremi joined Inter on a free transfer last summer. He has scored three goals and provided six assists in 34 appearances across all competitions with the defending Serie A champions.

His contract at the Stadio Meazza runs out in June 2027.
