According to Sky Sport Italia, it was not just Lucas Beltran who turned down a Flamengo transfer, but Inter striker Mehdi Taremi also rejected the move.
As Football Italia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà already confirmed today, the pressure on Fiorentina striker Beltran proved futile, as he has no intention of leaving Europe for a return to South America so soon into this stage of his career.
The Viola had accepted the proposal worth €15m plus add-ons, but the player was unimpressed with the destination.
It now seems as if he was not the only one to have doubts over a future at Flamengo.
Sky Sport Italia claim that the Brazilians made a similar proposal to Inter striker Taremi, but he too is waiting for other alternatives in Europe.
The 33-year-old Iran international is not part of Inter’s plans for this season, but has a contract to June 2027.
There have also been links with Besiktas, Fulham, Botafogo, Leeds United and West Ham United, though nobody seems to have come close to a genuine agreement yet.
