Brendan Rodgers has named his team for this afternoon’s Cinch Premiership game against Rangers. The Irishman has an enviable record in this fixture in both his spells in charge and will be looking to continue that with a win against Philippe Clement’s side.

All eyes were on Liel Abada and Reo Hatate, who passed fit and whether they would be fit Rodgers has been forced into making one change owing to Cameron Carter-Vickers picking up an injury in the win at Dens Park.

In goals, Joe Hart starts. The Englishman kept a clean sheet in the meeting at Ibrox while making some crucial saves.

In defence, Stephen Welsh comes in to partner Liam Scales with Alistair Johnston at right-back with Greg Taylor at left-back.

In midfield, skipper Callum McGregor is joined by Matt O’Riley and Paulo Bernardo. The trio will be able to provide both offensive and defensive quality that will assist the team at throughout the various phases in play.

In attack, Kyogo starts through the middle and he is assisted by Luis Palma and Daizen Maeda on the flanks.

Subs: Scott Bain, Maik Nawrocki, Anthony Ralston, Reo Hatate, Liel Abada, Yang, David Turnbull, Mikey Johnston, Oh

Hatate and Abada will look to make their impact from the bench after working their way back to full fitness. The pair were always unlikely to be named in the starting XI due to the lack of minutes between them and with Rodgers keen on continuity after two good performances.

The game will be shown on Sky Sports Football will coverage starting at 11:30 am ahead of the half 12 kick-off.
