Chelsea are now reportedly keen on signing a Premier League player who has bagged 30 goals in 70 games this summer.

The news comes after Chelsea went down 2-0 against Newcastle United away from home on Sunday lunch time in a crucial game for the race for Champions League football next season.

Chelsea needed to win this game as much as Newcastle did, but a first half sending off by Nicolas Jackson did not help their cause. Enzo Maresca has admitted that Jackson now needs to learn from this situation moving forward.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher now believes that Chelsea have a big problem after this defeat with just two games remaining of the season and the reality being that The Blues need two wins to guarantee a place in the Champions League for next season.

Chelsea want a new striker

The Blues have been linked with a number of potential new strikers and we seem to be hearing different names every day.

They have been linked with the likes of Liam Delap of Ipswich Town, but that one seems to have gone a bit quiet as he is now being more linked with Manchester United than Chelsea.

Blues in for Pedro?

Chelsea already have Pedro Neto, but now they are apparently keen on signing another Pedro!

According to The Telegraph, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all showing interest in Brighton forward Joao Pedro ahead of a possible summer transfer.

The report says that the three Premier League giants are among the admirers of Pedro, who has scored 30 goals in 70 games since joining Brighton from Watford for around £30 million in 2023.
