During his initial tenure at Celtic, Brendan Rodgers humorously remarked that he had a squad full of wingers…

While Rodgers has worked with a decent number of wingers in his second spell, the options out wide for the Hoops have suddenly become rather limited.

With key figure Jota sidelined until 2026, Luis Palma seemingly heading for the exit, and doubts lingering over Yang Hyun-jun’s ability to make a lasting impact, Celtic’s depth on the wings is facing serious uncertainty.

Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda are currently the key wide options – though Maeda spent a good portion of last season playing centrally, and while James Forrest remains part of the squad, expecting the 34-year-old to handle a full 60-game campaign is a tough proposition. A little and often approach is the most likely plan for Jamesy this season with the Celtic legend making his impact from the bench.

It is little surprise that Rodgers is aiming to bolster his wing options, casting a broad search to find the right reinforcements ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

Rodgers’ men may not have a flood of wingers just yet, but they are actively pursuing several targets – and these are the names currently leading their shortlist.

1.Benjamin Nygren

The Nordsjaelland winger has become one of Denmark’s most sought-after talents following a standout season and eye-catching displays for the Swedish national team. The 23-year-old first made waves as a teenager at IFK Göteborg, but his high-profile transfer to Genk did not quite take off, leading to a couple of seasons spent in the Dutch league. However, Nygren has found his stride once more in Denmark and made an influential impression for Sweden recently, scoring twice in three appearances. With just six months remaining on his contract, Nygren could be snapped up for a modest £2 million – though he is already attracting attention from other clubs. Reports over the past few days seem to indicate playing for Celtic is his preference and an early deal could be arranged early in the summer window.

2. Michel-Ange Balikwisha

The Royal Antwerp forward was pursued last summer before an injury prevented the transfer, yet he still quite clearly features prominently on the Celtic scouting radar. At 24 years-old he brings considerable Belgian league experience from his time at Standard Liège and was a consistent presence for Belgium’s Under-21 national team. Balikwisha is entering the last year of his deal, and although Antwerp may be asking for around £5 million, the Hoops could potentially secure his signature for a lower fee.

3. Sondre Orjasaeter

The Norwegian Under-21 international nearly moved to Celtic in January but decided he was not quite prepared to leave Sarpsborg at that time. However, Celtic remain interested, and many believe the moment may now be ideal for the versatile attacker, capable of playing both wide and centrally. Orjasaeter will not be an easy signing to make, as Celtic’s £4 million offer was rejected in January, with Sarpsborg aiming to secure up to £7 million following his impressive performances this season. More money and more risk might be counter balanced by more ability. That’s a judgement call for Brendan Rodgers and his staff. Remember too that at the end of the January window Brendan Rodgers curiously admitted that he had no knowledge of Celtic bidding for the Sarpsborg winger.

4. Nilson Angulo

Celtic’s recruitment team has been active in Belgium, with the Anderlecht forward emerging as another target on their list. The Ecuadorian international, who celebrates his 22nd birthday this month, has drawn widespread interest across Europe following a standout performance against Brazil last week. Angulo’s speed fits perfectly with the style Rodgers prefers at Celtic, and while he has expressed a wish to remain at Anderlecht and compete for his spot, a transfer could happen if the terms are agreeable. He is believed to be available for approximately £3 million, although the final decision may hinge on offers from other clubs. Maybe a little less likely now given how things are likely to pan out elsewhere.

5. Raul Moro

Celtic have been monitoring the promising Real Valladolid talent for some time, though they face competition from other interested clubs. Moro shone for the La Liga club during a difficult campaign that ended in relegation, and the club hierarchy is now keen to capitalise on his value. The Spain Under-21 standout’s market worth has soared, meaning a fee of at least £8 million would likely be needed for Moro to make the move to Celtic. Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, and a number of clubs from hare also believed to be vying for his signature.  Again this one appears to be a longer shot now as Celtic has plenty of options elsewhere.

Summary

That’s five names for potential wingers coming in during the summer transfer window, you would expect two to sign all going well with the top of our list the most likely and the least name the least likely arrival. Will be interesting to see what happens and also which winger – if any – heads for the exit door at Celtic this summer.

Alejandro Garnacho could prove key in Manchester Uniteds’s striker search; rival star keen to join

Manchester United and Chelsea could be involved in a Alejandro Garnacho-Nicolas Jackson swap Manchester United’s hunt for a new number nine has taken another twist, with Chelsea potentially offering Nicolas Jackson as a potential option, and intriguingly, suggesting a deal could be structured around Alejandro Garnacho. According to Fabrizio Romano via GiveMeSport, Jackson has been presented to Manchester United in recent days as part of an ongoing effort to solve the striker conundrum under Ruben Amorim. With Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha already brought in to strengthen the forward line, United are now looking to add a more central, clinical presence up front. Chelsea, aware of United’s striker search, are said to be open to a discussion involving Jackson and have also expressed interest in Garnacho, should United be willing to entertain a swap deal. Given that the Argentine is out of favour at Old Trafford, it could A key addition upfront Chelsea’s interest in Garnacho is not new, but it has become more pointed in light of their willingness to part with Nicolas Jackson, who remains an enigmatic but high-potential forward. United are said to have received this message at Carrington and are now internally evaluating how to proceed. Alejandro Garnacho has shown flashes of brilliance and is viewed as a core figure in United’s future. However, from a strategic standpoint, Garnacho’s rising value gives the club some rare leverage in the transfer market. More so, his antics last season have certainly put a sour taste in our mouths. At the moment, United have not made any formal move for Jackson, nor are they rushing to do so. The club continues to assess a wider list of striker targets, including Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins, while other names like Dusan Vlahovic have previously been floated. With Chelsea placing a £100 million valuation on Jackson, the only viable way to make the deal work may involve a player-plus-cash scenario, one that would almost certainly include Garnacho in discussions. Whether this will actually come to fruition remains to be seen. Amorim’s pull shows While Jackson is a raw talent with undeniable pace and work rate, his numbers at Chelsea last season left more questions than answers. If United are to consider such a high-stakes swap, it must come with long-term value and not just short-term necessity. What’s worth noting, however, is that Nicolas Jackson is not closed off to a move to Old Trafford. Even without European football next season, the Senegalese striker would be open to joining United, an encouraging sign that the club’s project under Amorim still has pull.

Lakers' Maxi Kleber Mentioned In Major Trade Talk As Mavs Ex Nearly On The Move Again

Lakers power forward Maxi Kleber was reportedly close to being involved in another trade with his new team. A former fan favorite of the Dallas Mavericks, Kleber spent eight seasons in Dallas before being part of one of the biggest trades in NBA history — heading to Los Angeles along with NBA superstar Luka Dončić. Now, after missing most of last season due to injury and playing just five minutes for the Lakers before re-injuring a right foot fracture he suffered in January, Kleber nearly found himself on the move again. The reason? The Lakers recently signed star guard Marcus Smart following his buyout with the Washington Wizards. To make room for the deal, Los Angeles needed to clear additional cap space. Their first move was to release point guard Shake Milton, freeing up about $3 million. But that still wasn’t enough. Initially, the Lakers considered trading away players like Dalton Knecht and another player on an expiring contract to bring back a single, more affordable option. Kleber was rumored to be that expiring contract player potentially involved in the deal. However, after exploring options, the Lakers ultimately chose a simpler route — releasing guard Jordan Goodwin to free up the remaining space and finalize the signing of Smart. Kleber has long been regarded as a valuable role player and depth piece, known for his versatility as a big man with the ability to shoot from the perimeter. Now, reunited with Luka Dončić — this time wearing purple and gold — Kleber hopes to make an impact in Los Angeles. But injury concerns remain: over the past few seasons, he has missed significant time, and that’s the last thing the Lakers can afford after spending nearly all of their cap space to acquire Marcus Smart. To avoid finding himself at the center of another major trade, Kleber will need to stay healthy, contribute consistently, and simply be available to help the Lakers in their pursuit of a championship next season.

Commanders' Jayden Daniels Reveals Why He's Bulked Up for 2025 Season

Commanders' Jayden Daniels Reveals Why He's Bulked Up for 2025 Season

A lot of things went right for Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders last season as the franchise made it to the NFC Championship game in Year 1 with Dan Quinn. But one thing that wasn't so good was the number of times Daniels got hit, with 47 sacks making him the sixth-most hit quarterback in football, and for a player of Jayden's slender build, that isn't ideal and is an injury waiting to happen. This offseason, Daniels - who has played at 6-4 and about 2010 - has bulked up a bit, and as training camp began, he revealed why he took that approach. "Obviously be able to take (and) soften the blow as much as possible," Daniels said. "That helps out because obviously those guys might get a good shot on you and they weigh a lot more than I do. So, just be able to try to build more muscle to absorb those hits." In an ideal world, Daniels wouldn't take those hits to begin with, but the fact is, he will get hit, he will get bumped, and having an extra layer of armor will help protect him from injury. Given his play style and the fact that Jayden likes to escape out of the pocket and get downfield, he has a big target on his back when he's a runner. So naturally, the bigger frame he now has will help him bounce off would-be tacklers and make it easier to absorb the punishment that will be coming his way. Year 2 is shaping up as a big one for Daniels and the Commanders, with expectations at an all-time high, so being able to play a full season is crucial to any success the franchise hopes to have. And with Jayden's bulkier frame, it might be a little easier to do that.

Jonathan Kuminga's Agent Shuts Down Rumors Of Rejecting $30 Million Per Year From Warriors

Jonathan Kuminga's Agent Shuts Down Rumors Of Rejecting $30 Million Per Year From Warriors

The Jonathan Kuminga situation has been more complicated for the Warriors with each passing day. From new teams showing interest in him to never-ending contract negotiations. The decision on what to do with Kuminga has halted all other moves for the Warriors. There were reports last season that claimed the Warriors had discussed a potential contract with Kuminga, but the 22-year-old reportedly rejected the offer at the time. Now, his agent, Aaron Turner, clarifies that these reports were never true. Even if the Warriors had internally discussed this offer, he claims such an offer was never presented to his client. "NO one on our side was turning down 30M a year. Our camp is smarter than that. Narrative makes no sense, twisted up Slater’s words, I think! #Fakenews" There have been rumors that Kuminga's camp has demanded a contract in that range itself, approximately $30 million a year. Meanwhile, the Warriors seem to be adamant on an approximately $20 million a year price tag for him. Therefore, it is naturally baffling to him that reports claim Kuminga was presented with the offer and rejected it, even when he wasn't even given the offer. The restricted free agent averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in the regular season last year. Midway through last season, Steve Kerr and Jonathan Kuminga's rift became public. Ever since then, it has been unlikely that Kuminga signs an extension with the Warriors. The Warriors are now looking for a potential sign-and-trade deal for Kuminga if he finds a team willing to match his demands, which insiders feel is unlikely. The Phoenix Suns and Chicago Bulls are names that have come up in rumors of interest in Kuminga. But neither of the teams seems to be offering a player that the Warriors are interested in. If there is no solution to this situation, then Kuminga will be forced to return to the Warriors, as they had extended a qualifying offer to him worth $7.9 million. As a result of this, Kuminga could become a free agent in 2026. The question now remains: what will Kuminga do? Will he find a team that can match his demands? Make a compromise on his demands to accept a $20 million per year offer to get traded away from the Warriors? Or accept his qualifying offer and prove his worth to the league by performing for the Warriors next season? While a Warriors return seems unlikely, as his camp has reportedly claimed he is not interested in returning, with each passing day, it seems to become the likeliest conclusion to this saga.
