Some fan media could be described as board ‘apologists’ but The Celtic Star certainly isn’t one of them…

Fan media is often a wonderful platform for supporters to get involved without the negativity and false narrative pushed by the SMSM, but just like our media chums there are a few who proclaim to be on our side who will dance to the tune of certain individuals to mask the reality of the situation.

These outfits are often described as ‘board apologists’ and everyone knows who they are especially those of us involved in the fan media scene. One has been busy this past week trying to undermine Brendan Rodgers, like it’s 2018 all over again.

I’m lucky and grateful enough to be involved with The Celtic Star who boast an excellent team of writers who aren’t afraid to give their opinions, we certainly aren’t ‘board apologists’ and are highly regarded amongst the fan media fraternity and the wider Celtic support. I’m NOT saying it’s perfect, far from it, but it’s HONEST and straight forward and tries hard every day to be the best possible site for Celtic fans to enjoy reading.

There are no paywalls on The Celtic Star, no AI, no intentional click-bait headlines and only Celtic supporters writing our stories, we don’t have any Rangers (sic) expects either. Our photography is second to none and it’s NOT easy to organise or fund and is often lifted and used elsewhere.  Our books are top class and produced to the highest quality and feature Celtic legends and eras where the story remains untold.

We are a site who will tell it how it is, how we see it, but will also back the manager and the players to the hilt in their pursuit of success. We want Celtic to be the very best we can possibly be and after the match ended in Munich to bring our UEFA Champions League campaign to a close we were immediately hungry to do it all again as Celtic looked to have returned to the biggest stage in club football as a competitive outfit.

Support the team first and foremost is I think the motto that best describes The Celtic Star. We want what’s best for the club and unlike some we aren’t afraid to air our thoughts, no matter who it upsets on the Celtic gravy train. We’ll not kick Celtic for the sake of clicks or views as others did during that awful Covid season. But when the club needs a little push in the right direction we’re never afraid to do that too. When the club needs our help we have always been happy to assist if it’s appropriate to do so.

Our opinions are those of Celtic supporters, no outside influences or agendas will be tolerated and while we may not always agree with each other as writers we are free to publish our own views and opinions. You too can write for The Celtic Star if you have something you want to say, just get in touch with the Editor.

Enjoy Flag Day today, it will be wonderful to see The Maestro back at Celtic Park, back where he belongs! Such a special Celtic man is Paul McStay.

Just wanted to say all of that as we head into a new season.
