Chelsea could make an offer for Alejandro Garnacho in the final weeks of the transfer window according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues have been busy this summer and have already made three attacking signings in Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

A fourth attacker looks likely to arrive in the form of Xavi Simons, with the Blues in advanced negotiations over a move for the 22-year-old.

Chelsea could move for Garnacho in final weeks of the window

Chelsea reportedly want eight or nine attacking options to rotate between in the squad next season, as they prepare for their return to the Champions League.

The attack has undergone somewhat of a revamp with the new signings, and the departures of Noni Madueke and Joao Felix.

Christopher Nkunku is also expected to leave, whilst there are question marks over the future of Senegal international Nicolas Jackson.

However, the Blues have continued to be linked with Manchester United winger Garnacho, although an official offer has yet to be made.

It’s been reported Chelsea aren’t prepared to pay more than £30m for Garnacho, and Romano has provided an update.

“First step, go for Xavi Simons, negotiations advanced with Leipzig, and then second step, consider Garnacho as an opportunity for the final weeks of the window,” he told his YouTube channel.

“So that’s the plan for Chelsea.”

Some reports have suggested Garnacho is waiting for an approach from Chelsea, and if he did arrive he would likely provide an alternative to Jamie Gittens on the left wing.

Man United won’t move for Nicolas Jackson

Jackson himself has been linked with United, and there had been talk of a swap deal with Garnacho, but that appears to have gone quiet.

United are said to have held conversations with Jackson’s representatives, but reportedly they won’t move for the 24-year-old due to Chelsea’s asking price.

The Blues have reportedly set their asking price at £80-£100m for the Senegal international, with Newcastle said to value Jackson at around £65m.

The situation is certainly one to watch for the remainder of the window, but it’s believed Jackson wants to stay and fight for his place.
