As the old adage tells us, there is no such thing as a "bad" goal. However, some are undoubtedly more aesthetically pleasing than others.
Cole Palmer delivered the 975th goal of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign last Sunday, tucking home an injury-time penalty to seal Chelsea’s impressive victory over newly-crowned champions Liverpool. The talented attacker has netted on 15 occasions so far this term, with one of these strikes featuring in our list of the five best Premier League goals of the 2024-25 campaign.
So, which other goals made the cut?
Jhon Duran – ASTON VILLA vs. Everton (14th September 2024)
With less than fifteen minutes of Aston Villa’s thrilling Premier League clash with Everton remaining, Duran netted spectacularly from distance to complete the hosts’ incredible comeback. The Colombian international angled a thunderous left-footed strike past a sprawling Jordan Pickford, sparking wild celebrations at Villa Park.
Alejandro Garnacho – MANCHESTER UNITED vs. Leicester City (10 th November 2024)
Having earlier been introduced from the substitute’s bench, Garnacho netted Manchester United’s third and final goal against Leicester City. From the edge of the box, the Spanish-born Argentinian international curled the ball into Mads Hermansen’s top left-hand corner to pile further misery on the visitors.
Less than 24 hours later, Rubin Amorim assumed the Old Trafford hotseat following his switch from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
Cole Palmer – CHELSEA vs. Fulham (26th December 2024)
No stranger to scoring spectacular goals, Palmer found the net in typically impressive fashion during Boxing Day’s West London derby. After picking up possession midway into the Fulham half, the English international skipped past several defenders before nonchalantly rolling the ball home.
Despite Palmer’s delicious solo goal, the Blues would go on to lose at Stamford Bridge for the first time since the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Kaoru Mitoma – BRIGHTON vs. Chelsea (14 th February 2025)
On the day cupid fires his arrow, Mitoma unleashed a supremely accurate shot of his own as Brighton overcame Chelsea at the AMEX Stadium. After taking a sublime first touch and turning inside Trevoh Chalobah, the Japanese international slid the ball beyond Filip Jorgensen to put the Seagulls in front. Six days earlier, Mitoma had netted the winner in a FA Cup fourth round meeting between the same opponents.
Justin Kluivert – Brighton vs. BOURNEMOUTH (25th February 2025)
Just over an hour into an entertaining Premier League contest between Bournemouth and Brighton, Kluivert curled home a rasping long-range effort to cancel out João Pedro’s first-half penalty. Positioned directly behind Bart Verbruggen’s net, the travelling Cherries fans had a perfect view of the Dutchman’s stunning strike.
However, the visiting supporters would ultimately leave the AMEX Stadium disappointed thanks to a late Danny Welbeck goal.
