AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez believes that the team have everything in their capabilities to challenge for the league title this season.

Milan certainly found it tough for the opening 45 minutes as Venezia came to try and frustrate, not necessarily by parking the bus but rather by disrupting build-up play with two very solid banks, and it took some inspired changes to unlock Paolo Zanetti’s side.

Theo Hernandez was one of the players introduced and he certainly made a very positive impact, directing Ismael Bennacer’s ball back across goal for Brahim Diaz to net the opener midway through the second half before scoring himself to kill the game off.

The Frenchman was interviewed by Sky Italua at the end of the game and was asked for a reflection on what was a tough battle against a newly promoted side who came and tried to make things dificult.

“We knew it was an important match and that against Venezia it would not be easy, we come from a series of very tough matches. The Coach gave me some rest, I went in trying to do the best,” he said (via MilanNews).

“We work every day to improve. It is a season in which we find ourselves better. Scudetto? Yes, let’s go to fight to win the Scudetto.”
