Nottingham Forest attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi has done quite well in the Premier League this season, and Tottenham Hotspur want to sign him.
The 24-year-old has eight goal contributions in all competitions, and his overall game has been quite impressive as well. The player is reportedly on the radar of multiple clubs, including Tottenham.
Tottenham scout Mick Brown has confirmed that Nottingham are looking to tie him down to a new contract. This will come as a major blow for any club hoping to sign the 24-year-old winger.
“Nottingham Forest want to sit down with Hudson-Odoi,” he told Football Insider.
“He hasn’t got long left on his deal and they want to make sure he isn’t tempted to leave, because there has been interest from a few teams including Tottenham.
It will be interesting to see if Hudson-Odoi is prepared to commit his long-term future to Nottingham. He might be tempted if a top club comes in the summer. He has previously failed to showcase his qualities at Chelsea, and he will want to prove himself at a big club. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can convince him to join in the summer.
They need more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and the 24-year-old will add pace, flair and unpredictability to the side. He has managed to regain his form and confidence with regular football at Nottingham, and he could be an asset for Tottenham in the long term.
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can negotiate a reasonable deal.
Tottenham need to replace Timo Werner, who will leave the club upon the expiry of his loan deal. Hudson-Odoi is a proven performer in the Premier League, and he could make an instant impact.
