Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey during the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the West Midlands club, and Tottenham manager Thomas Frank rates him highly.

According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, Tottenham have already spoken to his agent regarding a potential move. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

“Tottenham have been looking at Jacob Ramsey,” he told Football Insider.

“Thomas Frank rates him and he’s one Spurs have been interested in for a while.

“They’ve had scouts keeping an eye on his performances, and they’ve now spoken to his agent about what it would take to bring him in.”

Ramsey is capable of operating centrally as well as on the flanks. He will add creativity, technical ability, and drive to the side. His ability to slot into multiple roles will be a huge bonus for Spurs. They need more depth and quality in the middle of the park. The 24-year-old is highly rated across Europe, and former Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has backed him to develop into a “terrific” player. It will be interesting to see if Spurs can help him fulfil his potential.

He would be a long-term investment for them, and he could develop into a star with the right guidance. Tottenham will be able to offer him Champions League football, and they have talented players at their disposal. They will be an attractive destination for the young midfielder.

It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can negotiate a deal in the coming weeks. He does not have a future at Aston Villa, and they are unlikely to stand in his way. It is fair to assume that they will sanction his departure for a reasonable amount of money.
