Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has a massive task of leading the club forward following the UEL success

A new dawn is on the horizon at N17 as Thomas Frank looks to kickstart a new era at Tottenham. The Danish tactician has a massive task on his hands as he looks to replace the manager that ended the club’s 17-year wait for a major trophy. Not only that, but the 51-year-old also needs to get the players and the fans back on board after Daniel Levy questionably sacked Ange Postecoglou.

All eyes will be on the ex-Brentford boss as he looks to start his tenure at N17 in the best way possible. It is fair to suggest that Thomas Frank has not shied away from the big task of replacing Big Ange at the helm. The Dane made it clear during his first club interview that he wants to make Tottenham ‘serial winners’ again while he oversees the team.

For that to happen, Daniel Levy will need to back the 51-year-old in the summer and bring in reinforcements that would elevate the quality of the squad. Anything less than a domestic trophy and a top half finish in the Premier League would be seen as a failure for Thomas Frank. This just shows how tough it is going to be for the highly-rated manager to get going at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank warned to live up to expectations

The media spotlight will always be on Thomas Frank during the initial months. The Danish tactician cannot afford to put a foot wrong during this time, as the fans will also be eager to point out flaws and make life tough for the 51-year-old. The ex-Brentford boss will hope to weather the storm in the right way as the club looks to build on the Europa League success next season.

Now, Spurs icon Chris Waddle has warned Thomas Frank about the expectations at N17. Speaking to OLBG.com, Waddle said,

“Now they’ve brought in Thomas Frank who, let’s be honest, has done a very good job at Brentford but under no pressure. Maybe just some pressure to stay in the Premier League, but I think the difference you’ll find with Tottenham is that Tottenham want to win trophies. They want to be in the top four, they want to be in the Champions League.”

The ex-Spurs player added,

“They’ve got the stadium and they’ve got the training ground, but even going back to when I was at Spurs in the 80s, they always sell players and that’s going to be a problem for Frank if he wants to build a side that can compete for the Champions League.”

Chris Waddle acknowledged the job Thomas Frank did during his time at Brentford, but believes that the Dane had no pressure to perform well at the West London club. However, the ex-Spurs player has warned the 51-year-old of the challenges he will face at Tottenham, as the Lilywhites want to win trophies and compete in the Champions League. Waddle then adds that Spurs want to win silverware, but act as a selling club and that might make life difficult for Thomas Frank.

The fans will hope that the new Tottenham boss can live up to expectations and deliver on his promise of leading the club to more silverware in the coming years. With new season approaching quickly, the Lilywhites must first back the Danish tactician in the transfer market and give him the best chance possible to lead the North London club forward.
