Thomas Müller already made his MLS debut with the Vancouver Whitecaps over the weekend in a 1-1 draw against the Houston Dynamo . Müller played 30 minutes in his debut as he came on the pitch in the 61st minute.
Müller impressed just a minute into his debut as he scored a screamer, but his goal was quickly disallowed. The German attacking midfielder is expected to showcase more of his brilliance in the upcoming games.

Despite only playing one game, Müller is already challenging arguably the biggest star in Major League Soccer, Inter Miami's Lionel Messi. Messi and Müller have faced off on multiple occasions throughout their careers.
In an interview with the MLS, Müller was asked about his impressive team record against Messi's teams. Most encounters between the two players involved their time at Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, respectively.
When reflecting on past games against Messi, Müller challenged the Argentine in a funny way that many neutral fans appreciated.
Müller and Messi faced each other ten times, with Müller beating Messi seven times. Now in the MLS, Muller will look to grow that positive record if Vancouver Whitecaps and Inter Miami meet anytime soon, with the MLS playoffs getting closer.
Müller praises Messi and calls him the greatest player of all time, but reminds the Argentine star that he will try and beat him again.
Thomas Müller: "After Messi won the World Cup with Argentina, I go for him [as the greatest football player]. But, I will hunt you again."

Vancouver Whitecaps and Inter Miami will not play each other for the remaining 2025 MLS Season, and the only way they could face off is through the MLS Cup Final.
The Vancouver Whitecaps have been one of the best MLS teams this season, and with the addition of Müller to the squad, the team can aspire to climb higher up the table.
The Canadian team is currently 3rd in the Western Conference with 46 points after 26 games and is six points below first-place San Diego FC, who are on 52 points.
Inter Miami are 5th in the Eastern Conference with 45 points after 24 games played. They are seven points below first-place FC Cincinnati, who are on 52 points.
In the Supporters Shield standings, Vancouver is 7th while Inter Miami sits in 8th. Both teams are expected to reach the MLS playoffs.
