Thomas Tuchel is taking his post match press conference after Chelsea’s narrow win over Everton, and as well as being asked about the game, he was asked about players who didn’t feature in the squad at all.

Marcos Alonso was the most notable, and he was left out because he’s asked to move to Barcelona, the coach confirmed.

Tuchel said it “would make no sense” to play the Spaniard if he’s pushing to go, which we agree with.

That means that the Blues have seen the last of their cult hero, who first stepped into the side in that fateful game against Arsenal in which the Blues switched to a back three, on their way to a Premier League title under Antonio Conte.

He’s had many ups and downs since then – there haven’t been many players as divisive as him at the club in recent years – but now his journey has finally come to an end.
