Federico Dimarco is pushing to get to his best form physically ahead of the Champions League final between PSG and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

For the past few weeks, Federico Dimarco has not quite looked at his best.

The Italian international had suffered a thigh injury during Inter’s Serie A match away to Napoli in March.

And ever since then, there has been a feeling that Dimarco has lacked some sharpness.

That does not mean that there have not been any positive performances from the 27-year-old. However, he has not produced his best on a consistent basis.

Federico Dimarco Targeting Peak Physical Form In PSG Vs Inter UCL Final

Federico Dimarco certainly had his share of struggles defending against Lamine Yamal in Inter’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.

However, on balance the Italian international just about showed why Simone Inzaghi put his faith in him.

After Dimarco came off against Barcelona in Tuesday’s second leg, Inter really struggled to contain Yamal or gain territory down their left flank.

Therefore, there is little doubt that Inter will want Dimarco in the starting eleven in the final against Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the month.

The 27-year-old’s influence in possession could be decisive in a match like that.

Accordingly, Inter do not just want Dimarco available for the final. They want the Italian international fresh and able to really get into the physical battle.

Therefore, over the next three weeks, the priority for Dimarco will be to rest and train up to that level.
