The Red Devils have seen a mix of injury comebacks and rotation decisions this season, with key players returning to fitness and younger squad members given opportunities to impress.

Fans have been keeping a close eye on developments at Old Trafford, particularly as the January transfer window brings speculation about potential reinforcements and loan moves.

Off the pitch, the club continues to balance financial prudence with the need to maintain competitiveness, while also monitoring the performance of players across all squads.

Meanwhile, attention has also shifted to the women’s team, who are making moves to strengthen their midfield options for the remainder of the season.

Manchester United Women have officially confirmed the loan of young Scottish midfielder Emma Watson to Tigres Femenil, marking the final foreign signing for the Mexican side this season.

Emma Watson was recalled from her loan at Crystal Palace earlier this month, where she had made six appearances in WSL 2, helping the London club climb to sixth in the table.

The Scottish prospect previously made her United debut in November 2024 during a Women’s League Cup group-stage clash against Everton and scored her first goal for the Reds later in the competition against Newcastle United.

Pedro Losa, who previously coached Watson in Scotland, will now oversee her development at Tigres as she looks to gain valuable experience abroad.

This loan move provides Watson with an opportunity to hone her skills in a new environment while also giving Manchester United the chance to develop one of their brightest young talents.

Watson’s versatility and technical ability in midfield have been highlighted throughout her early career, and this stint in Mexico is expected to accelerate her growth.

United’s decision to recall her from Crystal Palace emphasises their intention to manage her development carefully, ensuring she gets consistent playing time at a high competitive level.

Tigres Femenil’s investment in Watson reflects their ambition to strengthen their squad with international talent, while the Scottish midfielder’s presence is set to provide an immediate boost to their midfield options.

Her manager, Marc Skinner has commented on what he hopes she can gain from the experience of playing in Mexico.

“This a different type of experience for Emma, which will also help her grow” said Skinner.

“In this next block, we need her to play, because I want her to realise the great talent she is.”

Another loan spell for the 19-year-old will help her build the experience required to break into the first team over the coming seasons.
