The MLS has continued to bring in well-known players who shone in Europe in the past, and one of the latest signings who has arrived in the United States is Timo Werner.
Timo Werner joined the San Jose Earthquakes and is set to be the main striker for the team this 2026 MLS season. The German striker last played for RB Leipzig in December and left the club.
Werner joins the San Jose Earthquakes as a designated player, and the German forward is an exciting signing for the MLS club due to his experience in Europe.
Despite his experience, USMNT legend Tim Howard is not excited about the signing and doesn't like the signing for the San Jose Earthquakes.
Timo Werner has experience in the Bundesliga and the Premier League, but Tim Howard still does not think the German forward is a good signing for the San Jose Earthquakes.
On the Unfiltered Soccer Podcast, Howard made a 'disrespectful' take on Timo Werner in terms of his finishing and specified his form with Tottenham Hotspur over the last few years.
Howard said, "I'm gonna say something really disrespectful, and I don't know how else to say it, but Timo Werner couldn't hit a cow's a** with a banjo."
The former USMNT goalkeeper continued and said, "I watched him for two seasons at Tottenham literally go through one-on-one with the goalkeeper and the ball ends up, it's hard to watch."
