Crysencio Summerville is attracting a lot of attention ta the moment as he leads Leeds to an instant return to the Premier League, and recent days have seen Chelsea linked to the winger.

He missed the game against us in midweek because he was being rested to keep up his league form, but our scouts will have been all over him even without getting to see him at Stamford Bridge.

Fabrizio Romano’s exclusive daily update for Caughtoffside reveals that he’s had no specific knowledge of any Chelsea interest in the Dutchman, despite rumours emerging this week.

“Despite rumours, I’m not aware of any contacts or negotiations over Crysencio Summerville at Leeds. Chelsea’s priority for the summer remains a central striker, but let’s see who else they look at,” Romano wrote.

“There are really many clubs following and monitoring Crysencio in the Premier League and other leagues, so let’s see if Chelsea decide to join them, but I’m not aware of anything concrete on this at the moment.”

Once Leeds are back in the top flight – and that looks like a matter of time now – Summerville’s price will be very high, and it’s hard to see Chelsea splashing on another winger while they’re still trying to make Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke work.

For now, this one feels like a slow burner, rather than red hot.
