Manchester United and Chelsea are both shaking up their forward lines this summer.

Chelsea have signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, as well as numerous wingers. Man U have secured Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, and are still looking for more firepower to help Ruben Amorim turn the tire fire at Old Trafford around.

While Chelsea are in a strong position, and should be delighted with the attacking options already, they’re always hungry for an opportunity. One player they really seem to like is Alejandro Garnacho, currently at United.

Chelsea like the look of Garnacho market opportunity

The Argentine has fallen out with Amorim and the club are keen to get rid of him, which means he’s likely going to be very undervalued. That’s where the market edge Chelsea are looking for comes from.

It has been suggested that a swap between the two teams could happen, with Chelsea taking Garnacho and United taking Nicolas Jackson, who has been bumped down to third choice by the new signings at Stamford Bridge.

However that idea was shot down this morning by the Manchester Evening News. They say that United are “not interested” in the idea of a swap. They’re still keen to sell the Argentina international, but clearly either want the cash for him, or just don’t reckon Jackson is enough of an upgrade on what they’ve got.

Jackson still looks a better option for Chelsea

Chelsea fans aren’t too enthused by the idea of signing Garnacho anyway – he’s shown himself to be a troublesome character to some degree at Old Trafford, without the talent or production to make taking a risk on that personality worthwhile. Jackson has his flaws, but we’d still keep him around over getting Garnacho in.
