Torino have inquired about signing Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito on loan, with Parma and Bologna also keen.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They also note that Pio Esposito could stay at Spezia if they win promotion to Serie A.
The future of teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito has become a hot topic at Inter Milan.
The 19-year-old is just finishing a season on loan with Spezia.
And it has been a real breakout campaign for Pio Esposito.
The teenage striker had also spent last season on loan with Sepzia. However, that was more of a season for him to adjust to the level of senior football.
However, this time out Francesco Pio Esposito has really found his feet.
The Italy Under-21 international has scored seventeen goals and made two assists in 35 appearances for Spezia this campaign. He has been a key player for the Ligurian club.
Inter Milan will have to make a decision regarding Pio Esposito’s future soon.
It is clear that the Nerazzurri do not want to lose control of the teenage striker’s future. They see him as a part of their own long-term plans.
To this end, Inter recently handed Francesco Pio Esposito a new long-term contract extension.
However, Pio Esposito will need to gain more experience before he can earn his place in the Inter first team.
As Tuttosport note, Inter want to loan Francesco Pio Esposito out again next season. They want him to get experience in Serie A.
They want it to just be a dry loan. At most, the Nerazzurri would be willing to negotiate a loan with a purchase option, but also a buyback option on their part.
According to Tuttosport, Torino have already opened up negotiations.
Pio Esposito is one of the Granata’s main targets for the summer along with Como winger Jonathan Ikone. Therefore, they have already sounded out a loan deal.
Meanwhile, reports Tuttosport, there are also two clubs from Emilia-Romagna to have come forward with an interest in Pio Esposito’s signature.
These are Parma and Bologna.
