Ivan Ilic thought he had scored a late equaliser for Torino against Como, but his goal was disallowed due to Cristiano Biraghi’s double touch on a corner kick.

A late Ilic goal was disallowed at the Stadio Sinigaglia in Como on Sunday, ruling out the visitors’ equaliser.

The Torino midfielder found the net on a rebound from a corner kick taken by Biraghi, but his goal was disallowed after a VAR check.

Replays appear to show that the goal was ruled out because Biraghi accidentally touched the ball twice while taking the corner kick.

The incident recalls a recent controversy involving Real Madrid and their city rivals, Atletico Madrid. The Colchoneros striker, Julian Alvarez, had a goal disallowed in the penalty shootout during the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 for a double-kick penalty.

Both Biraghi and Alvarez slipped down before taking their set piece, accidentally touching the ball twice

Torino eventually suffered a 1-0 away loss.
