Tosin Adarabioyo becomes Tottenham’s tenth summer signing

Tosin became Spurs’ 10th signing in an incredibly busy summer under head coach Roberto De Zerbi. That takes Tottenham’s spend this summer up to £389 million.

Upon signing for Tottenham, Tosin told the club’s official website: “I’m in an important part of my career and speaking to the Head Coach and knowing the type of football he wants to play, I think it’s a very good fit. He wants the team to play with courage, and that’s something that I always look to do.

“I want to achieve the absolute best, to push this team and this club as much as possible to where we deserve to be.

“That’s something that has to be done every single day, especially on the training pitch, and I will be bringing that mentality to the Club.”

De Zerbi added: “Tosin is a strong, athletic defender who plays with confidence and understands the demands of playing at the highest level.

“I’ve also been impressed with his mentality and desire to be part of what we are building. He knows the responsibility that comes with representing this Club.

“We’re very happy to have Tosin with us, and I know our supporters will quickly see the qualities he can bring to the team.”

Tosin’s jersey number revealed

It has been officially confirmed that Tosin will wear the No.4 shirt. The Nigerian international certainly comes in with a wealth of experience after playing in the Premier League across the last five seasons. He made 70 appearances across his two seasons at Chelsea, scoring seven goals.

The centre‑back is certain to add much‑needed experience and leadership at the back for Spurs. Tosin replaces Danso in the squad and will now compete with Micky Van de Ven, Marcos Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke for a starting spot in north London. Given he is right-footed, the ex-Fulham man can step in for Van Hecke should De Zerbi look to rotate his squad.
