James Maddison lauds Tottenham Hotspur star Wilson Odobert for his standout performance vs Manchester United

Tottenham showed great resilience in their 2-2 draw against Manchester United. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring in the first half for the Red Devils, but the Lilywhites came out of the tunnel with a chip on their shoulders for the second half.

Mathys Tel scored in the 84th minute to bring his side level, and Richarlison scored in added time to send the hosts 2-1 up. However, to their dismay, Matthijs de Light scored a header from a corner kick in the dying moments of the game to snatch a draw for his side.

After a dismal 1-0 defeat against Chelsea last weekend, Tottenham looked like a highly improved side this weekend. Thomas Frank made the right call to introduce Tel in the second half, as he scored just five minutes after coming on. Frank also substituted Kolo Muani to make way for Wilson Odobert during halftime.

Odobert played a huge role in Tottenham’s second goal, as he attempted a curling shot from outside the box, which was headed in by Richarlison. Tottenham playmaker James Maddison, who is currently sidelined with an injury, took to social media to laud Odobert’s impact on the game.
