Tottenham boss Postecoglou admits Werner deadline counting down

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has revealed that there is a deadline to sign Timo Werner.

The winger is on loan from RB Leipzig since January, while Spurs have an option to buy him within the agreement.

However, they must trigger the clause within a few weeks, otherwise Werner will be on the open market.

"I think from our perspective there's a deadline there," he told football.london after his team's post-season friendly against Newcastle.

"Again a lot of that will depend on the negotiations between the clubs and how Timo feels.

"Again, from my perspective, I'm comfortable with that situation and I'll let the other guys steer it to see what kind of outcome there is."
