Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a new winger in the upcoming winter window, and the North Londoners have been looking at Rodrygo Goes as his credentials continue to demote at Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old Brazilian international has been struggling to accommodate regular minutes under his belt since Xabi Alonso took charge of proceedings at Santiago Bernabeu. And now a fresh report suggests that Los Blancos are open to selling Rodrygo at a reduced price. As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid are prepared to listen to offers in the range of €50–55 million for Rthe Brazilian.
Now this is a figure that suddenly looks to have a big upside in the current market, given his potential places a proven, high upside, especially if Tottenham can back his ceiling with consistent development with starts and give him a clear role (that he has lacked at Madrid). And the Lilywhites will be monitoring the situation closely.
Tottenham have been underwhelming going forward in the ongoing season. And that is quite down to a lack of someone who can take the game by its cuff. And this is where you feel that need for a figure like Son in the line-up, someone who always popped up when needed.
But given that the South Korean international joined LAFC in the last summer window, the Lilywhites suddenly have that void in the lineup.
While Tottenham did bring in quite a few players, none of them has that ability or at least aren’t as polished as Son had been at Hotspur Way for almost a decade. And this is where the Dane head coach could use someone like Rodrygo in his roster.
Given that Real Madrid are ready to offload Rodrygo for a cut-price fee, Tottenham can pull off one of the bargains of transfer windows of late. The North Londoners will have to be on the table, given that the aforementioned fee is very much within Spurs’ financial flex.
But that being said, many clubs would be interested in his signatures, especially at that price, and Tottenham will need to do some convincing to secure his signing. The prospect of making him the centre of the project at N17 would be something that could help to tip the weighing scales towards the North Londoners.
