Tottenham Hotspur fans will be very excited to finally see Luka Vuskovic officially arrive at White Hart Lane.
The big Croat would have been waiting for the opportunity to showcase his quality at Hotspur Way from the time he signed for Tottenham two years ago from Hajduk Split, and having turned 18, he will now finally get the chance to do so this summer.
The centre-back enjoyed a fantastic loan spell at KVC Westerlo last season, with transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano revealing that the Spurs officials have been very impressed with his development. Luka Vuskovic made quite an impression in the Belgium top-flight, netting an eye-catching seven goals in 28 league outings.
After his noteworthy loan spell with KVC Westerlo, the youngster admitted he is excited to meet his new teammates at Tottenham and compete with them next season. Now, Mario, Vuskovic’s brother, has made an interesting revelation about the Spurs defender to a local German newspaper.
Back in April, Hamburg sealed a 6-1 win over SSV Ulm 1846 in the penultimate league fixture of last season. The win helped Hamburg return to the Bundesliga for the first time in seven years. After the final whistle against SSV Ulm, the Tottenham man and his father were seen celebrating with Mario at the Volksparkstadion.
When German newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt asked him whether there is a chance Tottenham could send his brother on loan to Hamburg, Mario said:
“Luka loves HSV simply because the club and the fans always support me.
“When he witnessed the promotion party at the Volksparkstadion, he was impressed by how big the club is and how incredible the fans are. He would love to play for HSV and wouldn’t say no to an offer. In the end, however, Tottenham will decide what is best for his development.”
Vuskovic has grown leaps and bounds in the last 12 months, and it was reflected through his entry into the senior Croatia side last month. New Tottenham boss Thomas Frank will evaluate the teenage prodigy during the upcoming pre-season tour, and knowing how well the Dane handled young talents at his former club Brentford, our fans will be quite excited to see how he helps Vuskovic in his development.
A decision over the one-cap Croatian international’s future at the club is yet to be made, but if the officials decide he could do well with another loan at a more competitive league than the Belgium Pro League, we may see him being sent to the Bundesliga. However, for Vuskovic to adapt to the demands of English football, a temporary move to the Championship would suffice.
