Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United are experiencing anything but a quiet summer. Following a turbulent season, despite reaching the Europa League final, the club now faces a series of tough decisions. One of the most significant involves Alejandro Garnacho. Once seen as untouchable, the young Argentine winger has been sidelined from first-team activities during pre-season, a decision made by new manager Rúben Amorim. That move has raised eyebrows and sparked speculation about his future.

As United look to restructure the squad and navigate Financial Fair Play regulations, Garnacho, despite his undeniable talent, has emerged as a key asset in their efforts to balance the books. His potential sale could generate significant funds, making him an important figure in what is shaping up to be a transformative summer at Old Trafford.

Tottenham and other interested parties are tracking Garnacho

According to journalist Chris Wheeler of MailOnline, Tottenham Hotspur are seriously considering a move for Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine winger has fallen out of favour under Rúben Amorim, casting doubt over his future at Old Trafford. Manchester United are reportedly open to selling him this summer to maximise profit. However, the price remains a sticking point. Garnacho was initially valued at £70 million, a figure that now appears unrealistic in the current market.

Tottenham are not alone in monitoring the 21-year-old. Aston Villa, Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, and Napoli have all shown interest, though Premier League clubs are best positioned financially to make a move. So far, no formal offers have been submitted, but with the window advancing, time is becoming a factor.

United should aim to secure at least £60 million for Garnacho, not only due to his age and marketability as an Argentine international but also because he has already proven himself at Premier League level. He brings pace, goal threat, and excels in one-on-one situations. Despite a breakdown in his relationship with Amorim, Garnacho remains a valuable asset. A flat transfer fee would not suffice, United must also negotiate performance-based add-ons and a sell-on clause to ensure long-term benefit from any deal.

The current market conditions make a deal possible. Tottenham, now led by Thomas Frank, are actively seeking attacking reinforcements but are known for their measured spending. If they are unwilling to meet the £60 million asking price, a loan deal with an option to buy could emerge as an alternative. However, Manchester United must remain firm in their valuation. Selling Garnacho for anything under £50 million would represent a significant undervaluation of a young, proven Premier League talent. Despite recent setbacks, Garnacho remains a highly valuable asset, and any departure must reflect his true market worth.
