Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga is attracting lots of suitors in the summer as Tottenham aim to fend off competition for his signature

A new dawn is on the horizon for Tottenham as they get set to kickstart a new era under Thomas Frank. The Danish tactician is already under immense pressure at N17 as he replaces the man who ended the club’s 17-year wait for a major trophy last season. All eyes will be on the ex-Brentford boss as he looks set to build on the Europa League success next season.

But Daniel Levy must make sure that the new Spurs manager is backed properly in the summer. The Lilywhites have not yet made a mark in the transfer window, and it is fair to suggest that the fans are getting anxious as they wait for Levy to make a move for new players. It is important for the North London club to bring in players that would suit Frank’s setup next season.

There is an urgent need to address the problems in the final third of the pitch. Many key attackers failed to step up last season, and that was one of the main reasons why Spurs finished just a place above the relegation zone in the Premier League. Now, the Lilywhites must focus on bringing in quality players that would provide good competition next season as the club looks to compete hard on four fronts.

Tottenham are keen to land Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga

There is no surprise that Tottenham are aiming to bring in wide players in the summer. The Lilywhites clearly need good depth in the wide positions, and Daniel Levy will need to splash the cash to sign quality players. With Heung-Min Son’s future remaining uncertain and Brennan Johnson not having enough competition, Daniel Levy is aiming to bring in a winger that would elevate the quality of the squad.

It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest in the summer. The prolific winger enjoyed a stellar individual campaign last season, and has raised a lot of eyebrows in the Premier League. The aforementioned report also stated that Forest have no intentions of letting the Sweden international leave in the summer.

However, that has not kept other Premier League clubs from trying to test the waters for Elanga’s signature. Now, Tottenham face competition from another rival to land the 23-year-old. As per talkSPORT , Aston Villa have entered the race to sign the winger in the summer. The Villans are aiming to bolster the wide positions in their squad as they look set to compete in the Europa League next season.

However, Nottingham Forest will not accept a penny less than the asking price of £60m for Elanga’s services. This might put a dent in Tottenham’s hopes of signing the player. The asking price is deemed to be too steep for Daniel Levy, as the club chairman believes that Elanga has not shown enough in the top-flight to justify the £60m price tag.

Spurs have already shifted their focus on other alternatives in the summer. The Lilywhites are closing in on a deal to sign West Ham star Mohammed Kudus instead. Daniel Levy feels the Ghana international would fit Thomas Frank’s system perfectly and would prove to be a real difference-maker in the team.
