Tottenham target Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho could now be available for a cut-price £40 million this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are busy assembling a fresh attacking unit for new boss Thomas Frank to use in the 2025/26 season.

Spurs have already made a blockbuster signing in the form of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, whilst obtaining the permanent signature of Mathys Tel. In addition, they are also trying to get Morgan Gibbs-White’s deal over the line.

But Spurs shouldn’t be done there as they looking at more established attacking names in the Premier League amid speculation surrounding the futures of Son Heung-min and Richarlison. This has seen them keep close tabs on Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Alejandro Garnacho has been at the centre of transfer speculation all summer, with manager Ruben Amorim believed to consider the winger surplus to requirements at Manchester United. The 21-year-old was one of the Red Devils’ better performers in an otherwise torrid campaign that saw them finish 15th in the Premier League and lose the Europa League final to Spurs.

With the Argentinean attacker keen on staying in the Premier League, there has been no shortage of suitors. Aston Villa are interested in the Man United outcast, while Chelsea have also been monitoring his situation. Regardless of several clubs vying for his signature, the 20-time English champions have failed to offload the speedy winger thus far.

Manchester United lower their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho

Man United are prepared to take a massive financial hit just to get Garnacho out of Old Trafford this summer. Valued at around £70m just 12 months ago, the Telegraph reports that the Mancunian giants are now willing to accept as low as £40 million for their talented youngster.

Garnacho was once viewed as one of the United’s future stars but, his performance levels have dipped whilst he’s also struggled to flourish in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system, which has put his future at the club in serious doubt. The 21-year-old’s exit from Old Trafford is inevitable, and following INEOS’ decision to significantly slash down his asking price in a bid to move him on from Amorim’s roster, Tottenham must truly consider signing him.

In Garnacho, Spurs would get a speedy, direct and industrious winger who can operate on both flank. The Argentinean would bring an element of unpredictability to North London, adding some flair and pace in the attack. Also, at 21, he fits Daniel Levy’s criteria of signing young talents players with high ceiling.

At £40 million, the United outcast would represent a fantastic long-term investment for Frank’s club. However, given the likes of Aston Villa and Chelsea are also in the mix, Tottenham must hurry up and secure Garnacho’s signature to boost their attacking options.
