Spurs face Brighton this weekend, after a successful midweek Champions League fixture in which they defeated Villarreal. The match takes place at 15:00 BST on September 20 from the American Express Stadium. Here is our Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup vs Brighton and Hove Albion.
Tottenham have lined up in a 4-3-3 formation this season. At the start of the campaign, some had suggested that this was due to a lack of a number ten; however, the arrival of Xavi Simons didn’t change anything.
In goal, Guglielmo Vicario is a strong starter. Pedro Porro and Djed Spence play as full-backs, whilst Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero round off a strong and relatively youthful back four.
Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall, and Pape Matar Sarr were the starting three in midfield last match, though Joao Palhinha has played a sizeable role this season.
Against Villarreal, Richarlison returned to the striker position, confirming assumptions that Mathys Tel’s start against West Ham was merely rotational. Xavi Simons started on the left again, with Mohammed Kudus on the right. Fans may still be expecting Simons to move to a more central role at some point, with Brennan Johnson another strong option on the left.
Thomas Frank has had to endure some injuries in his start to life at Spurs.
Number tens, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison are out. Meanwhile, Dominic Solanke is injured for a few months.
Yves Bissouma has been out with a knock recently. In defence, Kota Takai and Radu Dragusin are unavailable.
