Palmeiras are willing to sell Tottenham Hotspur target Vitor Roque in January for the right price

Tottenham focused on signing established, top-quality players during the summer transfer window as they aimed to build on last season’s Europa League success. The Lilywhites brought in Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Randal Kolo Muani to strengthen their attacking options and give Thomas Frank a genuine chance to close the gap on their Premier League rivals this season.

The decision to recruit ready-made stars came as a surprise to many, especially after the North London club had focused on youth signings such as Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray just a year earlier. However, it is fair to say that Spurs showed ambition in the market by bringing in experienced names capable of making an immediate impact and signalling the start of a new era at N17.

Despite their strong summer business, Tottenham have continued to struggle in front of goal this season. The Lilywhites have been wasteful in the final third, with several attackers failing to make a consistent impact under Frank. The biggest concern remains the lack of goals from the central striker position. Richarlison has struggled for consistency, while Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani have both endured injury setbacks that have sidelined them for large parts of the campaign.

Tottenham aiming to fend off competition to land Palmeiras star Vitor Roque

Unsurprisingly, Tottenham are now looking to strengthen their attack in the upcoming transfer window. The club want to address their long-standing issues up front by signing a new striker for the second half of the season. With Richarlison potentially heading for a winter exit, it seems increasingly likely that the North Londoners will look to bring in his replacement in the coming weeks.

According to Football Insider, Spurs are monitoring Palmeiras forward Vitor Roque ahead of a possible January move, amid ongoing injury concerns surrounding Kolo Muani and Solanke. The Brazilian prodigy has made a name for himself in South America, scoring 20 goals in just 52 appearances for Palmeiras. However, the club are only willing to sanction his departure if their £42 million valuation is met.

The report also claims that Tottenham will face stiff competition from other Premier League clubs for Roque’s signature. Both Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly interested in the young striker as they seek to bolster their attacking ranks for the second half of the season. Spurs will need to move quickly if they are to win the race for the 20-year-old’s services.

It is fair to say that signing Vitor Roque would represent a significant gamble for Tottenham. The club already have one inconsistent Brazilian striker in Richarlison, and Roque has yet to prove that he can perform consistently at the top level. His brief spell at Barcelona, where he managed just two goals in 16 appearances, has raised doubts about whether he is ready to make the step up to Premier League football.

That said, it is important to remember that Roque is still only 20 years old and has plenty of time to develop into a top-class forward. However, signing him at this stage might not be the most practical move for Spurs. Given the intensity and competitiveness of the Premier League, the Lilywhites need an experienced striker who can lead the line immediately. With Solanke’s fitness still uncertain, Tottenham’s priority should be securing a proven goal-scorer capable of taking charge of their attack at N17.
