Tottenham are looking to bring in Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga in the summer amid UCL qualification

Tottenham Hotspur need to get going in the transfer market if they want to close the gap on their rivals next season. The Lilywhites managed to save their blushes this year after winning the Europa League last month against all odds. Yet, it is clear to see that the squad needs improvement heading into the summer as the North London club will actively participate in the Champions League next season.

Club chairman Daniel Levy cannot get complacent heading into the transfer market, as Spurs need to address a lot of problems on the pitch before the new campaign starts. The Lilywhites are on the verge of appointing Brentford boss Thomas Frank as their new manager, and fans will hope that Levy brings in the appropriate players that could suit the Danish tactician’s setup.

The Europa League win just papered over the deep cracks that are forming at N17. However, bringing in quality players for Thomas Frank will be a step in the right direction as Tottenham will look to kickstart a new era at the club and compete on four fronts under the new manager.

Tottenham want to sign Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga

Tottenham need to invest heavily into the squad and bring in attacking reinforcements in the summer. The Lilywhites will need squad depth for next season as they will be competing against top teams in the Champions League. The club cannot rely on the current players to do the job next year, and Daniel Levy will need to sign quality players if they want to build on the Europa League success under Thomas Frank.

There is no surprise that Spurs are looking to bolster their attack for next season by bringing in wide players. As per TBR Football, the Lilywhites are interested in signing Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest in the summer. However, Forest are unwilling to sell the prolific winger as they consider him to be a crucial part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s setup.

The aforementioned report also suggests that Forest value the player at around £60m and will not accept a penny less for his services. Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Chelsea are also interested in signing the 23-year-old for next season. But it is believed that Elanga is quite happy to stay at the City Ground next season, and he is not actively looking to move in the summer.

Signing Anthony Elanga would certainly be a step in the right direction for Tottenham. However, it would mean that Brennan Johnson’s spot in the starting eleven would be jeopardised heading into next season. Elanga played a massive part in helping Nottingham Forest achieve European football for next season. And it is fair to say that the winger was one of the standout players for his side this year.

The 23-year-old would thrive in Thomas Frank’s setup at N17. The Danish tactician relies heavily on his wide players to create chances, and Elanga’s explosive running and quick dribbling will be perfect for the Lilywhites to play counter-attacking football. The ex-Man United player also possesses the ability to put in some good crosses, and he has also been efficient in front of goal. So all-in-all, bringing in Elanga will be a great addition to the squad.
