Tottenham monitoring ‘creative’ Como star with 13G/A amid competition from Chelsea

Tottenham are interested in signing Como talent Nico Paz

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled in the final third of the pitch. The Lilywhites have just not been able to create chances in abundance, and that has impacted the performances of many attacking players under Ange Postecoglou. The lack of an additional creative midfielder in the squad has also put James Maddison under immense pressure to perform well week in week out.

Spurs depend a lot on Maddison’s output during games. There is a clear difference in performance when the England international is on the pitch. The Lilywhites suddenly start finding different avenues to score a goal due to his creativity in the final third. Ange Postecoglou now faces a dilemma as the Spurs No.10 has suffered an injury that has ruled him out for the Europa League final.

There is no other player in the squad that can do what Maddison does for Spurs. Big Ange has played Dejan Kulusevski in Maddison’s position in recent games, and the Sweden international has struggled to make an impact on the pitch. It is clear that Daniel Levy needs to bring in a new player to complement James Maddison and help ease the burden off the England international’s shoulders.

Tottenham want to sign Como midfielder Nico Paz

Tottenham are looking to bring in new players in the summer after enduring a disastrous campaign. The Lilywhites want to shuffle the squad and aim to address the issues in the midfield. With Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur on the verge of heading for the exit doors at N17, Daniel Levy will look to bring in a new midfielder quickly.

As per Fichajes, Spurs are interested in signing Nico Paz from Como. The Argentina international has enjoyed a brilliant season under Cesc Fabregas at Como. He has been one of the standout players for the Italian team and has managed to register 13 goal involvements in just 30 matches. The Lilywhites see Paz as a perfect replacement of James Maddison in the attacking midfield position.

However, Tottenham are not the only ones interested in signing the creative midfielder. Chelsea are also interested in signing the 20-year-old and are preparing to launch a €30million bid for his services. Also, Real Madrid hold a buy-back clause for the Como star and might consider recalling him in the summer if Paz continues to perform brilliantly.

Nico Paz would fit in perfectly at Tottenham. The Como star is still young and has matured a lot during his stay in Italy. He is versatile as well and can either play on the wing, or as a number ten. Paz likes to create chances for his teammates and tends to weave past defenders easily. He also breaks through the press with ease and has a brilliant close control. The 20-year-old thrives when his team is dominating possession.

Daniel Levy will need to act quick if he wants to land the Como midfielder. The Lilywhites must qualify for the Champions League first and then try to convince Nico Paz to join the North London club. He would get the chance of linking up with other young talents in the squad like Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray.
