Joao Palhinha is keen to rediscover his mojo at Tottenham Hotspur

The North Londoners finally have someone to fill in at that #6 role after all the inconsistencies that Tottenham Hotspur experienced in the second phase last season, as Daniel Levy brings in Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich in a transfer which is going to be an initial loan transfer.

Tottenham make fourth signing of the summer in Joao Palhinha

The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder will be moving to Hotspur Way on what is going to be a season-long loan deal, with the Premier League heavyweights retaining an option to make the deal permanent next summer. The 30-year-old midfielder arrives in N17 following a difficult season in the German top tier after having moved to the Bundesliga from across London (Fulham) last year in a deal worth £47 million.

And now the incoming new face, Joao Palhinha, has firmly set his sights on winning trophies donning that Spurs badge.

The 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder is the North Londoners fourth signing of the ongoing summer window, and he comes to N17 with a lot of Premier League experience, and given the current rosters at Hotspur Way, he is expected to slot straight into Thomas Frank’s starting eleven.

Joao Palhinha makes title claim in his first interview

Speaking in his first interview as a Tottenham player, Palhinha has expressed a lot of confidence in the potential that the current squad has, especially to bring some silverware back to N17 in a similar manner to what this team did against Manchester United in their Europa League triumph last season. He said (via. SpursOfficial)

“Personally, I just want to play, to show again what I am capable of doing here in the Premier League and at this top club. As a collective, as a team, I just want to try to win titles.

“I think that we have all the potential here to do something really special. Of course, it’s not easy, we all know that this is the most competitive league in the world, but with all the potential that we have in the team, I’m really motivated to try to achieve some really good things for this club.”

Given that he has that experience, having played for a while in the Premier League with Fulham, the 30-year-old should find it quite easy to fit into Thomas Frank’s team and make an immediate impact at N17.

And hopefully he gets the floor running as soon as he joins, as Tottenham have a big final coming in the upcoming week as the North Londoners prepare to face PSG in the Super Cup.
