Manchester United give Tottenham an opportunity to sign Jadon Sancho before the transfer deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur continue to chase attacking reinforcements to strengthen Thomas Frank’s squad before next week’s transfer deadline.

Thomas Frank has made a great start to life as Spurs boss, claiming victories over Burnley and Manchester City in the Premier League. Even though his team lost the UEFA Super Cup to Paris Saint-Germain on penalty shootout, the Lilywhites were the better side for 70-75 minutes on that night in Udine.

The north Londoners’ clear aim is to sign players who can make an immediate impact in the final third of the pitch. Eberechi Eze was close to joining Thomas Frank’s side last week, before bitter rivals Arsenal swooped in and hijacked the playmaker’s move at the 11th hour. Spurs remain interested in signing Savinho, but Manchester City are not really keen on the idea of selling him this late in the transfer window.

This demonstrates how desperate Daniel Levy and Co. are to bring in attackers to fill the gaps in the squad created by Son Heung-min’s departure and the serious knee injury to James Maddison.

Tottenham offered chance to sign Jadon Sancho

According to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Manchester United have offered Tottenham the opportunity to sign Jadon Sancho.

“Savinho is still of major interest to them. They think there’s a possibility, and the player wants to go to Tottenham. We need to keep an eye on that. Jadon Sancho’s name has been offered to them, but we’ll see what happens in the coming days,” Graeme Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“Spurs still want a number 10 and a left-sided player, and I think they’ll get at least one.”

Jadon Sancho has no future at Manchester United. He was sent on loan to Chelsea last season, where the winger flourished under Enzo Maresca. The Englishman registered five goals and ten assists in 42 appearances for the Blues, including scoring in the 4-1 win over Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final.

Yet, Chelsea decided to opt against signing the 25-year-old due to his exorbitant wage demands. Instead, the Club World Cup champions paid Manchester United £5m as a penalty to break the obligation clause and send Sancho back to Old Trafford. AS Roma have been trying their best to sign Sancho for weeks now, but the player does not appear to be convinced of a move.

As there are no other offers for the London-born attacker on the table, Man United have started offering him to clubs. Tottenham have been offered the England international, who is now into the final year of his contract at Old Trafford.

Spurs must stay away from the Man United outcast

Sancho has been one of United’s worst signings in their history, a transfer that epitomizes the club’s decline since Sir Alex Ferguson departed. Once considered one of the game’s most exciting young talents, the Camberwell-born winger has failed to prove his worth at United and is seeking an exit to rebuild his career elsewhere.

From Tottenham’s perspective, Levy must stay far away from a potential Sancho deal after the Red Devils offered us the opportunity to sign him. Sancho’s high wages, coupled with his poor attitude and work ethic on and off the pitch, means the Lilywhites cannot afford to have players with big baggage. Frank wants hungry, hard-working and tenacious players to help the club bridge the gap between the top clubs, which makes the out-of-favour United winger a total misfit.
