Tottenham wonderkid Mikey Moore is set to go out on loan this summer amid latest interest from Rangers

Tottenham Hotspur still have plenty of work to do in the transfer window with both incomings and outgoings.

Spurs have travelled for the pre-season tour of Asia with Mohammed Kudus and Kota Takai the only new additions to the squad. The 29-man squad announced for the pre-season tour of Asia has seen some notable faces left out at Hotspur Way.

A few academy talents have remained in London to seek loan moves away, and one of those is Mikey Moore. The teenage sensation enjoyed a breakout season at Spurs last season, making 19 appearances across all competitions. However, he saw his game time reduce following the return of several senior stars from injury problems in the final months of the 2024/25 campaign.

The academy starlet’s camp has been pushing to secure a loan move away from White Hart Lane, while German club Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a permanent transfer. Mikey Moore has been a topic of much discussion in the first two months of the summer transfer window, and it now looks though that things could come to fruition regarding his future.

Ex-Spurs scout thinks Mikey Moore has a big season ahead of him

According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Rangers have now emerged as favourites to sign Moore on loan for the 2025/26 season. The possibility of joining a Championship club still remains on the cards, but the Scottish giants seem to have stolen a march ahead in the race to bring the Tottenham wonderkid to the Ibrox.

After the latest development with regards to Moore, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King feels that the teenage winger has a big season ahead of him.

“I was expecting more from him (Moore),” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.

“I was expecting him to really hit the ground running in the first team this year.

“He should certainly be breaking into Tottenham’s first team soon, if he’s going to fulfil the potential that we were told he would.

“He’s got a tough year ahead of him because there’s only so long that a team like Tottenham are going to wait for even a 17 or 18-year-old. Many 17 and 18-year-olds are breaking into first teams today.

“He seems not to have progressed as well as everybody perhaps thought he would.”

Mikey Moore will have a point to prove out on loan

Moore receive solid amount of minutes under Ange Postecoglou during last term, becoming Tottenham’s youngest goalscorer in Europe with his impressive solo effort against IF Elfsborg in January. However, with fewer guarantees of minutes given to him by new head coach Thomas Frank, the teenage prodigy is set to leave on loan this summer.

The direct and speedy winger appears to be heading on loan to Rangers, where he will get opportunities to make a mark and get valuable experience. It will also give him the platform to prove a point in the physical and intense Scottish Premiership that he’s ready for men’s football. And as King says, Moore would certainly be itching to become a regular member of the senior Tottenham squad next term.
