Tottenham reach agreement with English club for 24-year-old, deal officially announced
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

Championship club Millwall have completed the loan signing of Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga for the remainder of the season.

It was reported yesterday that Spurs have recalled the defender from his disastrous loan spell at Augsburg.

The decision to terminate his loan deal with the Bundesliga club was made after he failed to make a single appearance for them.

It was said that the club are desperate to find a solution for the 24-year-old and are working on a deal to send him out to Championship club Millwall.

The move has been completed today. Spurs shared the news on their official website, confirming that the defender has joined Millwall for the rest of the season.

The defender is set to don the number six shirt during his time with The Lions, and pending international clearance, he will be available for Saturday’s match against Queens Park Rangers.

Director of Football Operations at Millwall, Alex Aldridge, hailed the signing of Tanganga.

He said (via Millwall’s official website):

“We are really pleased to bring Japhet in.”.

“Japhet is hungry and motivated to play games, he has some excellent attributes as a defender and has played at a very high level with Tottenham Hotspur, so we feel he is a really positive addition and we look forward to working with him.”
