Tottenham are keen to sign top players in the summer as the club looks to compete for European qualification next season. The Lilywhites are currently stranded in the bottom half of the Premier League table, having won just two of their last 17 league matches. Therefore, it is important that they secure top-flight status in the coming months before turning their attention to signing players who can help them close the gap on their rivals next season.
It is clear that the North Londoners need to strengthen their wide areas in the summer. There is a lack of depth in those positions, and the ongoing injury crisis at N17 has not helped the club’s cause either. With Dejan Kulusevski’s return date still unknown and Wilson Odobert suffering an ACL tear earlier this month, it is crucial that Spurs sign a new winger in the coming months.
The fans still struggle to understand why the Lilywhites decided to sell Brennan Johnson in January. The Welshman was one of the few players capable of operating on either wing while still providing a consistent goal threat. However, Spurs felt the time was right to cash in on the prolific attacker without bringing in a replacement to fill the void he left behind.
Tottenham need to add attacking reinforcements in the summer if they are to compete at the top end of the Premier League table next season. It is important for the Lilywhites to be proactive in the upcoming transfer window and sign players who can make an instant impact at N17. The club cannot afford to sign players who may or may not make their mark, so the Lewis family must be prepared to invest heavily in proven quality instead.
Recent reports have linked Spurs with Barcelona loanee Marcus Rashford. The England international is currently on loan at the Blaugrana, with the La Liga giants holding the option to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer. He has continued to impress during his time at the Camp Nou after falling out with Ruben Amorim last year. At one stage, it appeared highly likely that the Lilywhites would miss out on his signature in the coming months.

However, there has been a positive update in the transfer saga involving the 28-year-old. As per Chris Wheeler (via X), Barcelona are looking to renegotiate the asking price for the 23 G/A Rashford’s services with Manchester United. They believe the £26m price tag is too steep, making it difficult for the Blaugrana to progress in talks with the attacker’s camp. The Red Devils, however, have made it clear that they will not budge and would only sell the England international if their valuation is met.
Tottenham must do everything it can to sign Marcus Rashford in the summer. The 28-year-old would represent an upgrade on Brennan Johnson and could also operate as a makeshift striker for the Lilywhites. He has already made his mark in the Premier League, emerging as one of the standout players for Manchester United before his move to Barcelona. As a result, the England international would not need much time to readjust to the demands of the league.
Rashford is comfortable in tight spaces and enjoys dribbling his way out of wide areas. He is clinical in front of goal and tends to make the right decisions in the final third. Not only that, but the England international offers a different dynamic in attack, adding flair and creativity, which is something Spurs are clearly missing right now.
