Tottenham are among several clubs set to scout Dinamo Zagreb’s highly-rated talent Luka Stojkovic

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer policy have revolved around targeting highly regarded, exciting prospects with potential in recent transfer windows. Daniel Levy and his team have taken the responsibility of recruiting young guns and developing them through the corridors of N17.

Spurs’ long-term vision and commitment to youth development have been evidenced by last year’s recruits such as Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert among some. The recruitment team are now said to be interested in bringing another young talent to the Hotspur Way.

Tottenham have reportedly set their sights on Dinamo Zagreb’s highly-rated talent Luka Stojkovic. The 21-year-old has been making waves in the HNL, scoring four goals and supplying three assists in 18 league games this season.

He was awarded the Man of the Match for his performance in Dinamo Zagreb’s over NK Lokomotiva before the March international break. The youngster helped his side win the contest 3-0 by scoring a goal and providing an assist as well.

Now, according to a report from Croatian news outlet 24sata, Tottenham are among several European clubs planning to scout Luka Stojkovic during Dinamo Zagreb’s final seven games of the season before contemplating whether to make an official offer or not. They are keen to sign the Croatian youth international after being impressed by his performances throughout the season.

Dinamo Zagreb, however, are not thinking about selling their new ‘wonderkid’, who has drawn comparisons to Barcelona and Spain’s creative midfielder Dani Olmo. Spurs will not have a free run at Stojkovic in the summer as clubs such as Bayern Munich, Napoli, Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid are all keeping tabs on his progress, the report adds.

Spurs will need a versatile attacker despite signing Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich during the winter transfer window. This is because Timo Werner is set to return to RB Leipzig after his loan deal expires, and the speculation surrounding Son Heung-min’s future at the club. It will be difficult to replace our modern-day legend, Son, but the Hotspur Way chiefs may view Stojkovic as that young, promising talent to do so in the future due to his ability to operate centrally and out wide.

For now, Tottenham scouts’ focus will be on Stojkovic’s performances in the final seven games for his club. If he lives up to their expectations, an official offer from Levy will certainly follow.
