Manon Solomon could leave Tottenham Hotspur to join Burnley this summer

The last few years have been a mix of expectations and disappointments for Tottenham Hotspur, but things are slowly changing now. The club have qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League after beating Manchester United in the Europa League final. Not only this, former Brentford manager Thomas Frank has been made the new boss this summer. There is a wave of change as soon as Frank arrives, and there is a lot of buzz within the club.

The team have bought Mohammed Kudus, and Mathys Tel has been brought in on a permanent deal. This means that Tottenham are now looking to build a strong attack ready for the Champions League, not just young talent. However, after every purchase, one question definitely comes up – who will depart the club? and in the middle of this question comes the name of Manor Solomon.

Is Manor Solomon still in Frank’s plans?

Manor Solomon burst onto the scene in the Championship last season, playing for Leeds United. 23 goal involvements in 41 games—that’s a strong claim for any attacker. However, speaking to Tottenham News, former scout Bryan King believes that the Israeli player will find it difficult to find a place in the Spurs first team. He has been sidelined this pre-season due to injury and Frank hasn’t had the chance to see him yet.

Leeds United are still keen to sign him, but no concrete offer has come in. Bryan King said teams like Burnley could also take advantage of this opportunity, as such an experienced and clever winger could help them fight.

“I think Solomon has got to face the facts that his future. Frank will obviously see him in pre-season, but I can’t really see where he’s going to get in the side.

If I were going to decide between keeping Son or keeping him, I think I’d stick with Son for another year. I can’t see why Leeds haven’t made overtures to sign him already, given how well he did for them last season. I’m surprised somebody else who came up hasn’t been in for him. Someone like Burnley, maybe.”

Spurs should sell Manor Solomon

We believe Solomon should leave the club now. The 28-year-old is a great player, no doubt about that. His performances at Leeds United have been commendable, but there is no clear place for him in Tottenham’s current attacking lineup. Son Heung-min remains in the team and serves as its leader. Also, the arrival of Kudus and Tel has increased the competition.

Solomon’s injury has also weakened his position. He is on a deal until 2028, but selling him now could raise £16.8-20 million for the club, which could be needed to improve other areas. Burnley could be a better option—they need a winger who can make a difference. However, their budget may be smaller than Tottenham’s asking price. Leeds also have a chance, but how long will they wait?

Tottenham now need to make clear decisions. If Thomas Frank is to take the team to the next level, he will have to let go of players who are just a part of the squad. It would be better for Solomon to go to a club where he gets regular games. Otherwise what is the use of his talent?
