Thomas Frank has not even managed a single game for Tottenham and he is already under pressure at N17. After Daniel Levy announced that the Lilywhites are aiming to win the Premier League and the Champions League in the coming years, all eyes will be on the ex-Brentford boss as he looks to get started at Hotspur Way next season.
The Danish tactician cannot falter at any point during the season if he wants to win over the fans and the club’s hierarchy. For the team to compete on four fronts, Daniel Levy must aim to back Thomas Frank in the summer transfer window. The Lilywhites need to bring in reinforcements quickly and give the 51-year-old a fair chance to build on the Europa League success next season.
The main priority for the North London club would be to bolster the attacking depth. Last summer’s statement signing Dominic Solanke struggled during the initial months at N17. The England international looked out of place and his competition for the ‘striker’ spot also failed to keep the ex-Bournemouth star on his toes. But it is fair to say that the 27-year-old turned his fortunes around eventually and played a crucial part in the Europa League success.
Tottenham must bring in a player that would keep Dominic Solanke on his toes next season. With the Lilywhites looking to compete hard on four fronts next season, Thomas Frank must have solid depth in all the positions. For that reason, Daniel Levy must pull out all stops and bring in a quality striker that would compete with Solanke for a spot in the starting eleven.
It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Jonathan David in the summer. The Canada international recently became a free agent following the expiration of his Lille contract. Daniel Levy is keen to bring the ex-Lille striker to N17 as the club prepares for Champions League football next season. The aforementioned report also stated that Napoli and Juventus were also interested in signing the 25-year-old.

However, Tottenham have now suffered a setback in their efforts to sign Jonathan David. As per Fabrizio Romano (via X), Juventus are on the verge of landing the 25-year-old for next season. The Old Lady are close to reaching an agreement on personal terms, and the Serie A giants have also given the striker reassurances on his playing time.
Missing out on David would surely be a big blow for Spurs. The prolific striker scored more than 100 goals for Lille during his time in Ligue 1, and it is fair to say that the Canada international still has his best years ahead of him. He would perfectly fit into Thomas Frank’s system, as well as, look to compete with Dominic Solanke for a place in the starting eleven.
Now, Daniel Levy should shift his focus on other alternatives after missing out on the 25-year-old. The Lilywhites are also interested in signing Evann Guessand from OGC Nice in the summer. The 24-year-old is keen on a summer move and bringing the striker to N17 would solve a lot of problems in the front.
