Tottenham Hotspur stars Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons will have a key role to play under Thomas Frank this season

Tottenham fans will be happy to see that the new signings are feeling right at home at N17. The Lilywhites managed to bolster their squad significantly in the summer following their Europa League success. Bringing top-quality players in was a real statement of intent by the North London club, further proving that they were not here to mess around anymore.

It is fair to say that Spurs shocked the footballing world by landing Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons on long-term deals. Kudus has quickly become one of the standout players for the Lilywhites under Thomas Frank, showcasing his talent at every given opportunity. His consistent impact against Burnley and Manchester City saw him become an instant fan-favourite at N17.

As far as Simons is concerned, the Dutchman is still finding his feat under Thomas Frank after making his debut last week. The 22-year-old has a lot of untapped potential that needs to be unravelled by the Danish tactician. One of the major reasons for Simons to join the Lilywhites was to play under Frank and continue his development. So, fans are quite sure that he would be a great success for the club in the coming years.

Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus can take Tottenham to the next level

Thomas Frank has made it quite clear that Tottenham are aiming to build on their Europa League success this season. The Danish tactician wants his team to compete hard on all four fronts. So, players will need to be on their ‘A-game’ if they want to end the current campaign on a high and bring more silverware to N17 by next summer.

To achieve the goals set out by the club, Thomas Frank will surely rely on his key players to step up and perform when it matters the most. And Ian Darke thinks that Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus would be the ones to take the Lilywhites to new levels. Speaking to Tottenham News, Darke said,

“I think he’s a very good signing. I think he’s an excellent player, a good signing, and a versatile player as well. But he’ll play on the left if necessary, but they’ve got other options out on the left.”

The iconic commentator added,

“They’ve got a few options, but I think Simons will find his way in the team most weeks. You would think so. And he and Kudus give them a little bit more of an X factor.”

Ian Darke believes Mohammed Kudus is an ‘excellent’ player that could be utilised anywhere in the attacking line by Thomas Frank. The iconic commentator adds that Kudus and Simons are good acquisitions who can help the team through their versatility. Darke also backs the Spurs pair to do well, admitting that both players bring an ‘X factor’ that the Lilywhites desperately need.

The North London club has already won four out of their opening five games this season, showcasing their potential to be a serious underdog in the race for a Champions League position via the Premier League. Fans will be pleased to see that Spurs have managed to carve out positive results without Kudus and Simons hitting fifth gear in the Lilywhite jersey.
