Tottenham to offer Harry Kane a new contract this summer?

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is a two-time Premier League and one-time World Cup Golden Boot winner who understandably is yearning to win some club silverware. Kane turns 28 years old in July and seemingly would have his choice of new employers this summer. The England captain has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, where former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino serves as manager.

However, world football insider Fabrizio Romano recently told the "Here We Go Podcast" that Tottenham are set to offer Kane a new deal.

"I want to say that at the moment we are in February and not during the summer but at the moment, he has never asked to leave Tottenham, never," Romano said of Kane, per Matthew Baldwin of This Is Futbol.

"And Harry Kane knows that Tottenham are prepared to offer him a new contract if he’s staying this summer so they know that he has two years of control and they have to deal with him to find the agreement for a new contract at the moment they are not negotiating yet. But if Harry Kane will stay this summer they will be prepared to offer him a new contract. So he’s waiting at the moment but he has not asked to leave the club."

While Tottenham sit a lowly ninth in the league table heading into the weekend, they have qualified for the Carabao Cup final and remain in the Europa League. It's possible winning either of those trophies could be enough to convince Kane to commit what's left of his physical prime to the club.
