Borussia Dortmund could test Tottenham’s resolve with a bid for academy starlet Mikey Moore

Tottenham Hotspur chief Daniel Levy has adapted the recruitment strategy of investing in highly regarded prospects over the last few years. The signings of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Wilson Odobert, Antonin Kinsky and Mathys Tel and a few more are glaring examples of that.

Daniel Levy is set to stick with the transfer policy in the forthcoming summer transfer—a period that is going to be extremely critical for the North London club after a disastrous Premier League campaign. Of course, they can salvage the season to some extent by winning the Europa League next week, but finishing a place or two above the relegation zone is simply not acceptable.

So, the expectation is high from Levy and his team this summer when it comes to reinforcing the squad. In addition, it seems they are also sorting out contracts for a few of the club’s youngsters.

According to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham are set to reward Mikey Moore with an improved deal after influential figures behind the scenes and boss Ange Postecoglou have decided they will not entertain the possibility of selling the youngster to Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Borussia Dortmund have shown an interest in signing Mikey Moore and are planning to test Spurs’ resolve with a formal bid when the transfer window reopens next month. The teenager, regarded as the best talent to emerge from the academy after the legendary Harry Kane, has broken into the first team under Ange Postecoglou’s tutelage. He was getting regular opportunities to showcase his talent in the first half of the season before a bad virus sidelined him for many months.

After recovering from the illness, Moore has found game time hard to come by at the club, especially with several experienced forwards returning from injury problems. Yet, the Southwark native remains highly rated within the club and Spurs are determined to prove his value to Dortmund.

The Englishman is on course to enter the final two years of his £5,000-per-week contract. The aforementioned report adds that the Lilywhites are keen to give him the opportunity to commit his long-term future at N17 as it would strengthen their position ahead of suitors attempting to lure him away from the club. The club bosses are confident that Moore is happy with his career trajectory as they look to assemble an improved contract to secure his future.

As Moore is very much open to continuing his journey with his boyhood club, Spurs will be hopeful that it will not be difficult to meet his salary demands in a big blow to Dortmund. Over the years, Dortmund have plucked away prodigious talents from different clubs and improved their squad, before selling them on hefty profits. The Bundesliga club have a sustainable model, which makes them an ideal destination for young talents to hone their skills and develop their careers.

However, as far as Moore is concerned, he is Tottenham born and bred and a future superstar. Wary of Dortmund sniffing around, the club bosses would do a wise job by extending his stay in the capital by handing him a new deal.
