Tottenham Hotspur striker Alejo Veliz is expected to leave the club permanently this summer, and he wants to return to his former club Rosario Central.

The 21-year-old has not managed to establish himself as a key team player for the North London club, and it would make sense for him to leave them permanently. He will aim to get his career back on track and also sort out his long-term future. He was on loan at Spanish club Espanyol last season, and he scored just four goals in 29 games

Returning to Rosario Central could be ideal for him. He would be a regular starter for them, and that could bring out the best in him. He does not have a future at Tottenham. It remains to be seen whether the North London outfit will sanction his departure.

Player wants Spurs exit

According to a report from Pagina 12, the move could drag on until July, but the player will do everything in his power to secure an exit.

A source from the club board of directors has informed Pagina 12: “Veliz will do everything in his power to secure a return to Central. He’s convinced that returning to the club now is the best option for his career, and that’s crucial to our aspirations. But we’ll have to wait until July to hear any news”.

Alejo Veliz must focus on his development

The 21-year-old is highly rated in South America, and he has a bright future. He needs to focus on his development and play regularly. Sitting on the bench at Tottenham are going out on every season is unlikely to benefit him.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks. Rosario Central and the striker will certainly hope to finalise an agreement with Tottenham soon.
