Tottenham want to ‘strike first’, preparing official offer to win five-way transfer race

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Giovanni Leoni from Parma during the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old has impressed with his performances, and multiple clubs are keen on him. Juventus, Inter Milan and Marseille are keeping tabs on him.

According to Sebastien Vidal, Tottenham want to ‘strike first’, and they are preparing an official offer. They could submit a bid of around €30-40 million for the young defender. It will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with the Italian outfit. 

They will face competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United as well. Tottenham have contacted his agents recently as well.

Giovanni Leoni would be a future investment

Tottenham are looking to build a formidable squad for the future, and it is no surprise that they want to sign a talented young defender like Leoni. He has the attributes to develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance. The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite exciting for him as well. 

Convincing the defender to join the club should not be too difficult for Tottenham. They will look to convince his club now. It remains to be seen whether the Italian outfit are prepared to sanction his departure for the reported offer when it is presented.
