Tottenham won’t like the sound of the latest Savinho and Marmoush update from David Ornstein

Tottenham have been linked with Savinho for quite a while, and Marmoush is also being targeted by the North London club of late.

Tottenham are looking to strengthen their squad for the second half of the campaign by bringing in reinforcements during the upcoming transfer window. The Lilywhites are eager to build a team capable of closing the gap on their rivals and winning more trophies in the months ahead. To achieve that, the North Londoners are prepared to back Thomas Frank during the winter window.

There is a clear need to bolster the left-wing position in January. The absence of a natural left-winger in the squad has come back to haunt Thomas Frank, forcing the Spurs boss to experiment with several combinations in that area. The Danish tactician has yet to identify the right player to operate on the left flank, which has pushed the Lilywhites to remain active in the market for a new attacker.

Tottenham all set to miss out on Omar Marmoush and Savinho

Recent reports have linked Tottenham with Manchester City stars Savinho and Omar Marmoush. Both players have struggled for regular minutes at the Etihad Stadium this season under Pep Guardiola, prompting speculation about possible exits in the upcoming transfer window. This has alerted the Lilywhites, who have shown interest in signing either player and offering them an opportunity to reignite their careers.

However, David Ornstein has provided a significant update on the situation involving both players, something Tottenham and their fans wouldn’t like. Speaking to NBC Sports, Ornstein said:

“I’m assured the likes of Marmoush and Savinho are staying as Man City have no desire to see them leave. They want to use all of their available resources to challenge to win trophies.”

Ornstein made it clear that both Marmoush and Savinho are viewed as key figures at Manchester City, adding that the Cityzens have no intention of losing important players midway through the season as they push for the Premier League title. Pep Guardiola is also keen on retaining both attackers as the club looks to maintain pressure on Arsenal in the second half of the campaign.

The time has come for Spurs to turn their attention to alternative options in the market if they are serious about signing a new left winger in January. Recent reports have linked the Lilywhites with AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche. The Frenchman is understood to be keen on testing himself in a new environment, which could allow the North Londoners to offer him a key role under Thomas Frank should he arrive in the coming weeks.
