Transfer insider links Iliman Ndiaye return to the Blades in January

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille in January. However, the French club seems uninterested in loaning him out, with other teams like Sheffield United and Crystal Palace also showing interest in the striker, according to Ignazio Genuardi’s tweet.

Iliman Ndiaye, the Senegalese striker, is highly regarded in English football following his time with the Blades for two seasons. However, despite interest from Everton and other clubs, Marseille seems unwilling to let him leave on loan, emphasising their reluctance to act as “lenders.”

Everton’s director of football, Kevin Thelwell, has suggested that the January transfer window might be relatively quiet for the club. It appears improbable that Everton would be inclined to pay the necessary fee to secure Iliman Ndiaye’s return to England. A short-term loan deal would likely have been a more attractive option for the Toffees.

Everton already boasts two solid forward options in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto, aligning well with Sean Dyche’s style. Given their recent investment in the Portuguese forward Beto, it seems unlikely for Everton to make a substantial signing in the same position shortly afterward. Additionally, Arnaut Danjuma, on loan from Villarreal, adds depth to the attacking options. Signing another forward might further limit Danjuma’s opportunities in the squad.

As for a Sheffield United return, that is unlikely now given their poor position in the Premier League.
